As part of the Body of Christ serving society with love, the Health Department of the Diocese is committed to delivering quality health care services with compassion, dignity, and efficiency to all people without discrimination. Guided by Christian values, professional standards, and the needs of the community, the department seeks to be a channel of healing and hope.
Responsibilities of the Health Department
Overseeing hospitals, health centers, dispensaries, and other health-related projects under the Diocese.
Coordinating the implementation of health policies and guidelines in line with Government and Church directives.
Strengthening community-friendly health services with a focus on maternal health, children, youth, the elderly, and people with special needs.
Monitoring the quality of health services, resource utilization, and staff development.
Ensuring access to preventive care, treatment, referral services, and community health education.
Partnering with Government, faith-based organizations, international partners, and health stakeholders in joint programs and projects.

Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC)
ALMC is a regional referral hospital providing specialized medical services and training for health professionals. It serves both local and referral patients from across different regions.
Services
Cardiac and vascular surgery, modern emergency medicine, eye care, physiotherapy, oncology, ICU, advanced laboratory services, and spiritual care.
Selian Lutheran Hospital
Selian is a regional-level hospital offering specialized medical care to both urban and rural communities. It emphasizes friendly and compassionate care, especially for the poor and marginalized.
Services
General surgery, maternal and child health, laboratory services, radiology, HIV/AIDS programs, rural surgical outreach camps, and more.
Health Centers and Dispensaries
The Diocese also operates rural health centers and dispensaries to ensure essential health services reach people in remote areas. These facilities provide primary health care, including diagnosis, treatment, and health education.
